  • 2. Yizkor

  • It is a Jewish tradition to honor the memory of our loved ones in our thoughts and prayers, as well as through acts of charity. The virtue of pledging charity* during Yizkor creates an opportunity for the souls of our loved ones to be connected with us through tangible acts of goodness and kindness .

Chabad will be publishing a Yizkor Memorial Booklet for Yom Kippur. This booklet will give us the opportunity to memorialize those whom we lovingly remember at this time, as well as include prayers and meditations of the Yizkor Service.

Please note: Any submissions that are received after Rosh Hashana will be included in the Yizkor booklet the following year.

    *Suggested Donation: $18 per name

We are dedicated to providing meaningful Jewish programming for people of all ages and stages year-round.  At this time of year, we turn to you and ask for your support so we can continue offering a vibrant and welcoming community center for every Jewish person in Nevada County.

When we give Tzedaka at at the start of a New Jewish year, we become a conduit for receiving an abundance of blessings and a year full of revealed good.

Please consider making a generous High Holiday donation to Chabad of Grass Valley as we begin another great year.  With your help, we can continue to support the needs of our community and help Jewish life thrive in Nevada County.  Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to celebrating the High Holidays together.  Shana Tova!
